500 miles is about a million steps. Make them soft ones.
Somewhere around kilometer twenty, your feet start negotiating. They bring up the asphalt into Logroño. They mention the cobblestones. This is the hour this shoe was made for: a thick, soft sole between you and Spain, and a grip that doesn’t argue with the hills.

Hoka replaced the 6 in early 2026. Independent testers describe a new, softer and springier foam, a new tread pattern and more padding around the heel. On Amazon the 7 has only a handful of written reviews so far, too few for our usual reading, so take this as a first impression: almost everyone who wrote calls it comfortable. On size, most took their usual one, and a few say go half a size up. We’ll do the full reading when more buyers have spoken.
The 6 is being sold off: expect deals and missing sizes. Everything in this block comes from buyers of the 6; testers found it firmer than the new one.

Fit is personal. Some buyers call these true to size, some went up, a few found them narrow (a wide version exists). The pilgrim trick: order two sizes, try both at the end of the day in your walking socks, send one back (check the return terms on the Amazon listing first). Your feet on day twelve will thank you for the ten minutes.
How long they last: The soft sole that feels like a cloud also wears like one: treat them as your Camino pair, not your five-year pair.
